Azure Updates: Confidential computing; Machine Learning Nanodegree; Cache for Redis; New data centers

The Azure team touted a new confidential computing partnership with Intel, a Machine Learning Nanodegree, changes to Cache for Redis and more.

CTO Mark Russinovich highlighted the launch of a new partnership with Intel aimed at delivering next generation confidential computing. Microsoft is set to become an early adopter of Intel Xeon Platform code, dubbed Ice Lake, with full memory encryption and enhanced cryptographic performance for confidential computing using Intel Software Guard Extensions. At the same time, Microsoft Azure Attestation enables customers to remotely attest to the authenticity of the software enclave at the hardware level.

Microsoft CVP Julia White announced the advanced Azure Machine Learning Nanodegree program with Udacity. Earlier in the year, the Azure team worked to get 10,000 new ML students up to speed over the course of four months. The new Machine Learning Engineer for Microsoft Azure Nanodegree Program is now available. As part of the learning program, users will practice developing sophisticated ML models, training them and setting up ML pipelines.

Training options are also expanding in the Indian market. Microsoft connected with the All India Council for Technical Education, making available 1500 course modules for students through AICTE's ELIS e-learning platform. "Upskilling is very important to enhance employability opportunities for students.
