Ecolab expands use of Microsoft Dynamics 365 mixed reality, HoloLens 2 with virtual visits in life sciences

Water, hygiene, and infection prevention solutions vendor Ecolab will begin offering virtual visits for cleaning and disinfection services in the life science industry.

Ecolab's Life Sciences business will deploy Microsoft Dynamics 365 Remote Assist and HoloLens 2 devices to provide remote technical support and documentation to on-site team members. The remote services will also be used to recommend and implement other "site-specific cleaning programs to help prevent common issues that lead to downtime and associated costs in productivity, labor and resources," according to the company.

Various Ecolab divisions have been adopting Microsoft's mixed reality solutions in recent years, as well as Azure and Power Platform. Some examples include:
