Mercedes-Benz announced a new partnership with Microsoft that will see its 30 passenger car plants connected to the Microsoft Cloud with the MO360 Data Platform. The new data platform is the latest evolution of Mercedes’ existing MO360 digital production ecosystem and is intended to spot possible supply chain bottlenecks and unify data.

Currently, the platform is already available in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and will soon be available in the US and China. The MO360 Data Platform is based out of the Mercedes-Benz Digital Factory Campus in Berlin, and is intended to support supply chain management, production planning, and virtual replicas of vehicle manufacturing.

"Mercedes-Benz' partnership with Microsoft is a testament to the power of the industrial metaverse. Together, we are merging the physical and digital worlds to accelerate value creation. Mercedes-Benz can simulate and refine manufacturing processes infinitely in the Microsoft Cloud before bringing them to the shop floor to enhance efficiency and minimize its environmental impact amid constant change and uncertainty,” stated Judson Althoff, executive vice president and chief commercial officer at Microsoft.
