Microsoft announced it has acquired The Marsden Group. The move boosts Microsoft's position in specialized industry technology in sectors including energy, manufacturing, and other industrial production.

The move is part of Microsoft's bet on rapid digital investment in industrial sectors, wrote Omar Abbosh, Microsoft corporate vice president for cross-industry solutions.

"The newer opportunity in infrastructure, manufacturing and resources is enormous," Abbosh wrote. Microsoft expects The Marsden Group's role as a trusted technology solution provider in a range of industries will strengthen the company's position for accelerating adoption of cloud, edge, and AI products.
