Microsoft Automotive & Mobility: New partnerships in 2022

Microsoft and its industry partners kicked off 2022 with a string of automotive technology announcements. The latest announcements from Annata, Wejo, and Tekion build on a string of partnerships in 2021 with Blue Yonder, Arrival, ZF, and the Eclipse Foundation, and point to increased uptake of connected vehicle technology.

Annata announces new automotive industry retail, mobility modules for Annata 365

Annata, makers of industry-focused business solutions built on Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Azure, announced plans to expand their automotive product offerings into distribution, retail, and mobility services.

Annata 365, the company's flagship cloud platform, offers solutions for the automotive and industrial equipment industries around operations, sale, field service, rental, analytics, and more. Their automotive solutions are built on Microsoft's Common Data Model for Automotive, which Annata co-developed.

"Building on the success of its 20-year history as a Microsoft partner, including recent customer wins in the mobility services sector and the New Energy sector, Annata will be enhancing Annata 365 with new services which enable vehicle OEMs, Importers, Dealers and Service entities," the company stated.

New Annata 365 retail and mobility modules are due in the next year and will work with the Dynamics 365 Automotive Accelerator and Common Data Model for Automotive.

Wejo launches Neural Edge for connected vehicles

Wejo Group Limited announced the development of its Neural Edge, in conjunction with Microsoft at CES 2022. Neural Edge is intended to process large amounts of AV, EV, and connected vehicle data, leveraging Azure and Wejo’s ADEPT platform. The goal of the initiative is to resolve some of the latency and data storage challenges related to data coming from connected vehicles, ultimately reducing costs for automakers and buyers, while helping to curb emissions and traffic.
