Microsoft grows its partnership with SAP for Industry 4.0

Microsoft and SAP announced plans to advance their work together as members of the Open Manufacturing Platform and Open Industry 4.0 Alliance.

SAP will use Azure to run its offering in a SaaS model, including Intelligent Asset Management, Integrated Business Planning, and SAP Logistics Business Network.

And Microsoft is working to make SAP solutions available on Azure Stack Edge, beginning with SAP Digital Manufacturing Cloud. Customers will have a choice between different reference architectures, such as Azure IoT or SAP IoT to manage time series data.
