Microsoft to Purchase Edgewater Fullscope's Process Industries 2 Solution for Dynamics AX

Consulting firm and Microsoft Dynamics ERP partner Edgewater Technology announced today that its subsidiary Edgewater Fullscope has entered into an agreement to sell Microsoft its Process Industries 2 (PI2) software and intellectual property for an aggregate of $3.25 million.

As part of the agreement, Microsoft will engage Edgewater Fullscope in additional development and training services during the integration of the module into Microsoft's ERP solution for enterprises, Microsoft Dynamics AX.

With this IP purchase, Fullscope continues its role as an IP leader for process manufacturing in the Dynamics AX market.  In 2009, Microsoft acquired a previous process manufacturing solution from Fullscope (before the company's 2010 acquisition by Edgewater Technology) that became a core component of the Dynamics AX 2009 vertical solution strategy.  The solution allowed for integration of business processes across discrete and process manufacturing.

"Including these capabilities will enable our partners worldwide to deliver standardized industry solutions faster, while giving our customers a packaged solution to meet specific needs of the process manufacturing industry," said Hal Howard, corporate vice president Microsoft Dynamics Research and Development.
