National Bank of Greece deploys SAS Viya on Microsoft Azure

The National Bank of Greece has adopted SAS on Microsoft Azure as part of its digital transformation plan, SAS announced.

The bank has launched an enterprise analytics and decision-making engine, run out of its Business Analytics Center of Excellence. SAS Viya artificial intelligence and machine learning capabilities scale up and down with Azure to support self-serve data mining by the bank, according to the company.

National Bank of Greece aims to move quickly from design to rollouts. Developers are able to deploy a variety of different code including Java, Lua, Python, and R.

"With the SAS Viya implementation in the cloud, we have significantly improved the CoE's development of new analytics infrastructure by notably decreasing the costs and the complexity of processes, and by acquiring agility, speed and efficiency,” stated Pantelis Maraveas, Assistant General Manager of Retail Segments, Bank Analytics and Liability Products at NBG.
