SAS and Microsoft have announced a new strategic partnership, aimed at helping customers to run their SAS workloads in the cloud. Through the partnership, companies can migrate SAS analytical tools to Azure, which becomes the preferred cloud provider for SAS Cloud. SAS is working with Microsoft to optimize analysis for huge amounts of data from Azure IoT, while also optimizing the SAS Viya solution.

Already, SAS and Microsoft have existing integrations for Power Platform, Microsoft 365, Azure, and Dynamics 365.

The two companies stated they have a mutual goal of expanding the reach of AI and analytics. One example is the use of IoT data analysis capabilities for flood risk analysis in the town of Cary, North Carolina, where SAS is headquartered.
