SOPHiA GENETICS teams up with Microsoft on health data analysis

Swiss technology company SOPHiA GENETICS announced a multi-year partnership with Microsoft to support health data workflows, data curation, and development. The SOPHiA DDM platform is based on Azure, intended for precision medicine scenarios.

Currently, multimodal data sets can be very large presenting challenges for analysis and management. Through the partnership, SOPHiA hopes to help customers scale, and support a  decentralized care model for hospitals.

“Microsoft is pleased to support this mission by providing secure and scalable cloud infrastructure, alongside SOPHiA GENETICS' advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning tools and technologies that can help generate actionable insights, which can lead to better health outcomes," said David C. Rhew, M.D., Global Chief Medical Officer, Microsoft, in a statement.
