US Bank selects Microsoft for cloud initiatives

US Bank announced that it has selected Microsoft Azure as the primary cloud provider for its applications.

With the transition to cloud, US Bank intends to improve security, privacy, and risk management. Currently, over 80 percent of US Bank transactions occur online, up from 70 percent in 2019. Through the agreement, US Bank will consolidate datacenter footprint, and will continue to expand its used of Microsoft 365 and Teams.

The company wants the ability to rapidly access, analyze, and scale data to meet customer demand. The two companies plan to work together to expand partnerships for financial services. US Bank plans to apply AI and machine learning to transform apps and personalize the customer experience.

The companies also hinted at other areas of collaboration.
