Director of Product Marketing Naga Surendran announced new plans for Azure App Service customers and the deployment of two new models in the Premium v3 service tier, along with the Isolated v2 tier. The P0v3 plan and a new series of memory-optimized P*mv3 plans are intended to support app modernization projects. The plans include faster processors, boosted vCPU, memory, and instance counts. With these memory optimized plans, Microsoft plans to better support customers with reduced costs and both Windows and Linux pay as you go pricing. Surendran wrote:

Customers with high security and compliance needs can also choose the App Service Environment which provides fine-grained control over inbound and outbound application network traffic. Unlike the shared, multi-tenant service, an App Service Environment hosts applications from only one customer and is powered by the Isolated v2 (Iv2) plans. We are excited to announce three new Isolated v2 offerings which expand the ability for organizations to run applications at high scale and with higher memory utilization in an isolated and secure environment. These new offerings are the I4v2, I5v2, and I6v2, providing new compute options ranging from 16 virtual cores with 64 GB memory to as much as 64 virtual cores with 256 GB memory.

CVP Yousef Khalidi highlighted capabilities that Microsoft is announcing at Mobile World Congress. Operators are looking to expand partnerships, monetization, and rapidly deploy new products. Microsoft touted Programmable Connectivity, private MEC, public MEC, Operator Nexus, and support for disaggregated network functions. Khalidi encouraged customers—with respect for privacy and data security—to use network data as source of insights with network APIs.
