Cockroach Labs announced the availability of CockroachDB through Azure Marketplace.

The offering is a distributed SQL database aimed at replicating data across multiple nodes to guard against downtime. At the same time, it is intended to reduce labor-intensive manual sharding. Data can be tied to a location to better manage latency and data privacy needs.

"As organizations accelerate their transition to the cloud and the development of cloud-native applications, they require a reliable, scalable database. The availability of CockroachDB on the Microsoft Azure Marketplace empowers Azure users to leverage a database that was purpose-built to manage transactions in the cloud," stated Spencer Kimball CEO and co-founder of Cockroach Labs.

"We're pleased to welcome CockroachDB to the Microsoft Azure Marketplace, which gives our partners great exposure to cloud customers around the globe. Azure Marketplace offers world-class quality experiences from global trusted partners with solutions tested to work seamlessly with Azure," said Sajan Parihar, Senior Director, Microsoft Azure Platform at Microsoft, in a statement.
