Dynamics Profile: New Microsoft MVP brings .NET expertise to growing CRM career

Debajit Dutta Microsoft MVP Debajit Dutta began his Dynamics CRM career a bit unexpectedly, but for good reason. When he began working at Microsoft in 2010, Dutta was already an experienced .NET technology consultant. Initially he continued on .NET at Microsoft, but sometime in early 2011 the company asked him to choose a new product and gave him two options, Dynamics AX or Dynamics CRM.

"I came to understand that Dynamics CRM had its base on the .NET framework only. And me being quite confident on the .NET platform, it was easy for me to pick up Dynamics CRM as well," Dutta says. "I started my journey with Dynamics CRM 2011 and since then there has not been a day that I don't look back and remember that day."

Today, Dutta, who lives in the Bengaluru area of India, works as a Dynamics CRM senior architect at SanDisk, a user of Dynamics CRM. Microsoft recently awarded him his first MVP award. Receiving the award took some time, Dutta says, but it reflects a range of community efforts and accomplishments.

"In July 2016, I received an email from Microsoft saying that they would not be able to award me the MVP at that time," he says. "I was a little upset, obviously. But I had been doing some good stuff with CRM fortunately because my company has been continually upgrading. So I thought, why not keep going with what I was doing and if I do good stuff, the award will follow at one time or another. And then in the next cycle [October], I got the award."
