ILoveNAV Management Transitioning to NAVUG, Seeking Broader Acceptance

ILoveNAV has been serving as an alternative outlet for Microsoft Dynamics NAV product feedback for about two years now.  Started by US-based Dynamics NAV consultancy ArcherPoint, the site aimed to be a more open, social, and accessible option to Microsoft Connect by simplifying the process of submitting enhancement ideas.  Now, the management and maintenance of ILoveNAV will shift to NAVUG.

Interest in ILoveNAV was strong right from the start, with hundreds of suggestions streaming in.  Some of requests have now been resolved, typically if the request was covered by a feature released in NAV 2013 or by custom code submitted by the community. But for Greg Kaupp, managing partner at ArcherPoint, the fact that his firm was directly associated with the site meant that ILoveNAV might not gain the trust of everyone in the NAV community.  He wanted to find a way for his team to step back from its role in keeping ILoveNAV going, which has been considerable when you add up the team's efforts in administering the site, promoting it, and even staffing an ILoveNAV booth at various conferences (you can find them at booth #337 in the exhibit hall at Convergence 2013). 

"While we remain very committed to I Love NAV we have wanted to deemphasize our role so that more partners, ISVs, and end users will actively participate in promoting the site," says Kaupp. "It was always our goal for this to be a community driven site and not an ArcherPoint site."
