Internet of Things a Natural Extension of Dynamics ERP, CRM, says IoT Partner of the Year Finalist eBECS

UK-based eBECS was recently named an Internet of Things (IoT) finalist and Country Partner of the Year for the UK in the Microsoft 2016 Partner of the Year Awards. Currently a Gold ERP and CRM partner, the company started out in 2002 as a Microsoft Dynamics AX partner, selling mainly to manufacturing and distribution companies.

The company has since evolved to deliver solutions for CRM, business intelligence, and, most recently, Internet of Things (IoT) use cases.

"One of our focuses were companies on a lean transformation journey," says eBECS marketing director Stephen Wilson. "We adapted or customized Dynamics AX to align itself to the lean principles that were needed to deliver a solution to a customer that was on a lean journey."

To do that, eBECS developed additional modules inside Dynamics AX around how to properly use bar code devices, RFID systems, and electronic kanbans to collect data, Wilson says.

"That gave us an understanding of how to solve customer challenges with more than just what ERP had to offer," he says.

Fast forward a number of years and eBECS has matured as a business, offering solutions integrated to Microsoft Dynamics CRM and also delivering a business intelligence offering.

"Now we have three practices, ERP, CRM and business intelligence that we've just renamed data analytics," Wilson says. "eBECS has transformed our business from selling one product to one vertical to selling what we call a total Microsoft business solution."
