Microsoft has revealed a new Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management Premium product offering ahead of this week’s Microsoft Business Applications Launch Event

The Supply Chain Management Premium offering will include the team's new demand planning capabilities that they revealed in preview in November 2023. The new features include an engine for selecting forecast models for different products. Customers are also able to link up their own ML models custom-built for their business needs.

“By combining insights with streamlined collaboration, planners can have an increased level of trust for a more reliable forecast,” wrote Microsoft corporate vice president Bryan Goode.

Goode has been with Microsoft for ten years and appears to have been promoted to CVP in his move to  Microsoft’s Business Applications and Low Code platform team. According to a spokesperson, he is the marketing leader for group. Goode has previously held GM and VP roles at Microsoft with Office 365 and in Monetization and Business Planning. Former CVP and COO of Business Applications and Platform, Mo Osbourne, recently announced her retirement.

In GA, demand planning for Supply Chain Management Premium will add more features:

  • Copilot-provided data insights for demand forecasting
  • A new product phase-in-phase-out process to support smoother transitions in product life cycles
  • The introduction of row-level security
  • New cell-level commenting in addition to the existing plan-level commenting

Supply Chain Management Premium arrives a few months after Dynamics 365 Finance Premium, which Microsoft launched at the start of 2024 to offer new extended planning and analytics capabilities.
