Microsoft to begin enabling Dynamics 365 F&O management from Power Platform admin center

Microsoft customers have been managing their Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations and AX solutions with the Lifecycle Services (LCS) platform for almost a decade. LCS has provided access to management and administrative aspects of customers' cloud ERP environments, from the start of implementation projects through to go-live preparation and long-term maintenance and updates.

While LCS is not going away, Microsoft has revealed plans to begin supporting the administration of F&O apps (Finance, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, and Project Operations) through the Power Platform admin center, the portal used to manage all the Dataverse-centric Dynamics 365 applications and Power Platform services.

Since LCS plays such a foundational role in every cloud deployment of Dynamics 365 F&O apps, any future changes to that model will be a big deal for customers. According to a recent blog post from Microsoft senior program manager Lane Swenka, support through Power Platform admin center will be optional for current customers. He wrote:
