Microsoft could bolster Cloud for Healthcare with purchase of AI firm Nuance: Report

Update: Microsoft has confirmed the acquisition of Nuance Communications in an all-cash transaction valued at $19.7 billion.

Microsoft is in talks to buy Nuance Communications, makers of artificial intelligence and speech recognition software, according to a report from Bloomberg.

If an agreement is reached, it could reportedly value the publicly-traded Nuance at approximately $16B.

Microsoft and Nuance already partner together and have found ways to bring Nuance solutions into Microsoft's latest industry strategy.
