How to gain more control on setup while posting transaction in Business Central

Writing on his Amol Business Central & NAV Blog, Amol Salvi stated that there are a lot of new features in Dynamics Business Central Wave 2 2021 (BCV19) that make life easier for developers and customers.

He explained that one of the key areas in D365BC is the posting groups that connect different modules with finance management. Salvi stated that after posting the transaction in real time, users can see the required values in the chart of account.

However, sometimes a user or consultant forgets to set up the required accounts in the general posting setup and gets an error when they post a transaction. An experienced consultant will realize that right away and add the required setup but an end user or a beginner will likely have some trouble figuring it out.

With the new release of business central [sic] while posting a transaction if some setup [is] missing then you will get proper error messages stating that this particular setup is missing.

In his post, Salvi offers an example of how this works in the real world.

Attaching file documents in Business Central

On the Evolution Business Systems blog, Mike Arenas wrote that files can be attached in D365BC to efficiently upload and reference outside documents within the ERP. By attaching file documents, you can associate tax invoices to purchase orders, order confirmation to sales orders, catalogues to Items, contracts with vendors or customers and many others.
