Azure Purview enters general availability
Microsoft announced that Azure Purview is now generally available. Purview is intended as a unified data governance solution, capable of automatic data discovery and sensitive data classification.
Microsoft introduced the offering based on projections of up to 175 zettabytes of data generated annually by 2025. Many organizations are ill-prepared to handle such large amounts of data, make sense of it, and maintain regulatory compliance. This is particularly true with data scattered between the cloud, on-prem databases, and SaaS apps.
